Description

Provide general analytical and computer modelling support as required for a host of energy efficiency and demand response programs, including but not limited to the support of existing programs, but also the development of new modelling analysis as the need develops. Additionally, support current and emergent programs related to electronic data programs and departmental safety.

Provide analytical support as necessary in support of assigned electric and natural gas programs. Also provide daily programming (MS Access, VBA, .NET SQL Server, etc.) and administrative support services for the automated demand response registration and settlement system. Interface with internal departments and external contractors/vendors to facilitate automated data transfers as necessary to support and establish the most efficient methods to collect, store and transfer performance data for the Measurement and Verification group. Develop, implement and manage various projects, such as analytical business models, related to the proposed Act 129 energy efficiency and demand reduction programs.

Perform detailed financial, data modelling, and operational process analysis in support of corporate and/or business unit strategic goals. Conduct and perform market analysis. Develop detailed financial forecasts. Deliver operational excellence across all areas of implementation including financial responsibility. As required, participate in the RFP process. Support the development of business plans.
As required work with Measurement and Verification, Program Managers, CSP's, Account Management, Marketing, IT and other internal/external resources in support of company goals (safety, emergency response, diversity, etc.)

SKILLS:

GENERAL SKILLS:
  • Strong financial and analytical skills are required.
  • Understanding of electric and gas industry; general understanding of unique differences among tariffs a definite plus, but not required.
  • Strong analytical skills, strategic thinker, self-starter, good written and oral communications skills, strong computer skills, and the ability to conceptualize and drive projects independently are required.
  • Must have the ability to work and communicate effectively across functional areas and all management levels, both as an individual performer and in a team environment.
  • Some travel is required.
TECHNICAL SKILLS (Desired):
  • Superior expertise in database application development with Microsoft Access or SQL Server.
  • Expert knowledge in user-interface design using Visual Basic programming languages (VBA or .NET).
  • Skilled at using relational database theory and object-oriented programming methods in application development.
  • Strong background in XML and web services for sharing structured data between computer systems over the Internet.
  • Excellent skills in spreadsheet design utilizing data analysis, macros, pivot tables, charts, and other features of Microsoft Excel.
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or Economics; or demonstrable experience in a business analytical role involving the design of computer models, and subsequent analysis of data.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 4 years relevant professional work experience of experience is preferred in the development of complex database design utilizing VBA, .NET, SQL Server, etc.
