Description
Growing, Atlanta-based technology company has an immediate need for a Senior Windows Systems Engineer to assist their Data Center Transformation team for a 4+ month contract. In this role, you will oversee a complex data center migration and transformation effort for a global company. You should have experience working in datacenters and hosting facilities, and VMware experience with 3.5, 4.0 and 5x is required.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Windows experience supporting large commercial clients (this is a client-facing role).
- Design, deployment, administration experience in support of Virtual Technologies including VMware ESX 3.5, ESXi 5x and vSphere 5.0 in a business critical production environment.
- Expert with Windows operating systems in a VMware vSphere suite (experience with all the features included in Enterprise Plus Edition with Cisco Nexus 1000v distributed switch integration) with emphasis on VM design, large-scale deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Systems administration to provide maintenance and support to IT Enterprise Infrastructure on IBM Blade Center/Blade Servers in a Vmware 3.5 and 4.0 and 5x environment.
- Ability to produce high quality operational documentation, including Visio diagrams, high-level descriptions of the environment, as well as detailed instructions outlining the steps required to repeat the build-out and configuration of the infrastructure.
Preferences:
- Strong knowledge of Systems Administration in Windows Server 200x, Active Directory, IIS, DNS, DHCP, NFS, iSCSI
- Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.
- Exposure to other Datacenter virtualization products.
- Microsoft Certification desirable but not required.
