My client is a small EPC looking for a qualified Facilities or Mechanical Engineer to join its office in Houston. This Facilities/Mechanical Engineer will move into a management role within 1-2 years of joining the company.
Job Description:
- Develop project & equipment specifications for equipment purchase, fabrication, and installation services
- Develop P&IDs for various production and utility facilities
- Develop cost estimates for modifications to existing facilities and creation of new facilities
- Perform basic design & sizing of mechanical equipment
- Review client specifications and ensure design of equipment and systems are in compliance
- Perform technical evaluation and review of vendor bids for production equipment, fabrication, and installation services
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Engineering or relevant degree
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- 8+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer in oil & gas field production design; 10+ years of experience is preferred
- Knowledge of Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Knowledge of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) for upstream process design
- Ability to develop Request for Quote (RFQ) packages for equipment purchase
- Knowledge of pressure vessels, piping systems, pumps, utility equipment, etc.
- Understand basic equipment operating principles for separators, pumps, and compressors
- Knowledge of production facilities and facility design is very important
