Description
- Work on the mechanical design of tooling components and assemblies for subsea and downhole use.
- Provide technical leadership to multi-disciplinary teams developing tools for the oil and gas industry, particularly with regard to mechanical constraints and compliance with industry standards.
- Lead technical discussions with existing and potential clients and, working together with business developers, draw up proposals for work programmes
- Identify potential opportunities for in-house technology creation to target industry hot-topics and then lead projects in these areas which raise our clients profile within the industry and/or generate valuable business.
Minimum Requirements
- Excellent academic background in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant experience of working within in the oil and gas industry.
- Innovative, problem-solving mindset with an ability to grasp complex, ill-defined, multi-disciplinary challenges.
- Strong technical leadership skills, and ability and desire to lead and mentor less experienced staff.
One or more of the following would also be beneficial:
- Specific experience with subsea and downhole tools.
- Experience with the analysis and measurement of subsea tools
- Experience with SolidWorks and/or Inventor
- Experience of designing equipment to ISO/API/DNV standards
- Experience of commercial negotiations
- Project management experience.
