POSITION SUMMARY:The primary role of the Field Service engineer is to technically support the product both at the customer site and in HQ. In addition to repairing units and performing updates, the FSE must communicate often to the customer and serve as a face for the company. The FSE works with manufacturing and engineering to identify opportunities for improvement and helps with the implementation of them. The FSE will often be asked to work independently and must be comfortable with making decisions on their own. The FSE requires an individual that is very hands-on, has a high attention to detail and quality, and is flexible working in an environment where he/she is asked to wear many hats and meet the ever-changing needs of the company. Future growth potential exists with this position given the right candidate.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Field Service Engineer:
- Perform work required to repair or upgrade equipment as outlined by MPIs
- Conduct routine service checks and fill out the necessary paperwork to document work
- Troubleshoot problems seen in the field based on engineering fundamentals and knowledge about equipment
- Conduct necessary tests, device configurations, and calibration to ensure equipment is in spec with Manufacturing standards
- Travel up to 85%
Manufacturing Team:
- Work with engineering to identify opportunities for improvement in the design and manufacture of equipment
- Develop systems necessary for the continuous improvement of operations processes and the documentation of them
- Take initiative in questioning current designs and practices in order help with the continuous improvement of both company and product
- Provide back up support for manufacturing of new product
Quality Management System:
- Conform to the Quality Management System (QMS) that governs Ekso Bionics product realization by way of a defined product development cycle
