Nomura International seek a
Engineer/Project analyst required to work within Market Data Direct Feed Team. Tasks include platform configuration management of the Market Data platforms & Infrastructure. The scope includes but is not restricted to administering the NYSE Wombat Direct Exchange Platform. Additionally the candidate will undertake specific projects to cope with changes in business and operational demands.
- Work within a close team to provide technology support to all users of the Market Data Services including Front Office staff, other technology groups and commercial members of the group.
- Undertake system integration projects relating to Market Data distribution and delivery.
- Installation and maintenance of infrastructure hardware, including installation of patches and upgrades in London.
- Ensure effective communication with the business on issues arising.
- Maintenance and upkeep of technical documentation.
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required
Skills & Experience Required:
- Must have worked in a similar environment for at least 2 years.
- Very good team working skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non technical staff
- Understanding monitoring, supporting and implementation of Market Data platforms
- Understanding of Direct Exchange infrastructure and connectivity
- Ability to develop and maintain Shell Scripts within the UNIX environment ie Perl/Shell Scripting.
- Experience of working on a multi-office architecture.
Desirable Knowledge:
- Demonstrable knowledge of a multiple operating systems, including UNIX (Solaris/SunOS), Linux, Windows XP.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Network Fundamentals such as TCP/IP, Multicasting, LAN's and WAN's, Tibco RV Delivery.
- Understanding of a wide variety of infrastructures, eg Bloomberg, Reuters Dealing 3000, EBS Dealing, Bridge/Telerate, Reuters Data Feeds, DACS permissioning etc.
- MS Project competence (or other recognized project management tool) is highly desirable.
- MS Visio & MS Powerpoint competence is highly desirable.
- Ability to communicate (written & oral) effectively to both technical and non technical staff.
Successful candidates will be engaged under a contract for services by Resource Solutions.
