Computer Futures are currently looking for a Senior Data Analyst for one of key clients within the Healthcare Industry.Purpose of Job:
This position will serve as an analytical consultant to support and improve the effectiveness of our programs through quantitative analysis. Primary responsibility will be to coordinate the creation of data files for use with external clients; perform analysis on clinical and financial data with particular emphasis on developing new methods and efficiencies in reporting. Additionally, this position will support other consultants supplying them information on clinical, financial and operational activity of our clients.
Major Responsibilities
Senior level analytic position involving responsibility for multiple projects with high levels of complexity. Performs the following duties with minimal to limited supervision:
* Accepts projects upon request by internal and external clients and/or assignment by senior department staff.
* Discusses project with client, supervisor, and/or team members to obtain a solid understanding of the issues involved and applicable requirements and due dates.
* Reviews and finalises specifications for project Maps the business problem into quantitative questions that can be answered through available data resources.
* Works with appropriate data sets as needed to respond to a particular business problem; creates appropriate data sets where necessary.
* Prepares clear, succinct written and oral summaries, tables, charts, reports, or presentations for review by staff and other external parties.
* Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of all of internal resources (including key databases and business experts) as needed to complete assigned projects in an accurate and timely manner.
* Develops MS Access databases and reports
* Develops MS Excel pivot reports & other summary documents.
* Acquires a proficient knowledge of MS SQL to perform queries, build data sets, and develop reports in a manner consistent with departmental methods, procedures, and standards. Some previous SAS skills and use of MS Query Analyzer preferred.
* Works in a collaborative manner with senior department staff to test all results for consistency and reasonableness before results are forwarded to the client.
* Plans schedule according to availability and quantity of resources, and number and priority of assignments to complete current projects on a timely basis.
* Develops close relationships with internal and external clients to foster a customer-friendly environment.
* Wants to be a significant contributor to the department's goals and success.
* Responds well to positions of authority and others; enjoys both coaching and being coached.

Qualifications:
Required:
At least 5 years' experience of working within an NHS analytical or informatics function
Demonstrated extensive experience in acquiring and managing large, complex data sets using common DBMS tools such as MS Access, SQL Server, Oracle, SAS.
Ability to work both face-to-face and telephonically with clients at client sites to resolve complex data management issues
Demonstrated ability to define operational/production processes
General familiarity with clinical information systems and clinical terminology is highly desirable
Detailed knowledge of data systems and coding practices, used within the NHS, including Acute Trusts and GP Practice Systems, especially as it relates to extracting information for analytic/reporting purposes
Preferable:
Demonstrated experience working in a client support organisation responsible for implementing and/or supporting complex information management tools
Experience as an actual user of analytic, reporting and clinical workflow tools is highly desirable
Domain knowledge as appropriate, examples include: payment methods, utilization review, quality improvement, Payment by Results, Practice Based Commissioning.
Bachelors degree in an applicable discipline preferred (e.g. Finance, Information Management, Medical Informatics),
