Description

Represents procurement for all new product launch teams and executes the supply chain material strategy for each launch for products outsourced to contract manufacturers. Coordinates and communicates with other cross functional team members (R&D, marketing, regulatory, quality, manufacturing engineering, etc). Manages / reports inventory from proto type builds through transfer to contract manufacturers. Develops accurate standard cost and lead time information and ensures it is loaded into the ERP system

Planning
Utilizing an updated product requirements forecast and MRP (Materials Requirements Planning) output, plans subassembly and finished device purchases with contract manufacturers to support the manufacturing plan while maintaining optimal inventory levels. Ensure the accuracy of the vendor part-master and vendor lead-time data in the company's ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software.

Purchasing
Obtains and analyzes quotes and negotiates with suppliers where appropriate in order to obtain fair pricing for high quality assemblies, components, equipment, and services to support production and engineering. Enters purchase orders in the ERP system, places orders with suppliers, and works with suppliers to ensure on-time receipts.

Supply Chain Management
Evaluates supplier reliability, works with suppliers on continuous improvement, develop new supplier sources where suppliers are inadequate or when new suppliers / technologies are required. Coordinate with Quality and Finance to ensure that suppliers are reviewed, approved, and monitored on an ongoing basis consistent with FDA and ISO requirements and financial objectives. Assist in the development of a supplier rating system and presents in QBRs with management Creates and maintains supply agreements with key contract manufacturers and turnkey suppliers.

Inventory Management
Provide input pertaining to the disposition of inventory during the MRB (Material Review Board) process. Obtain RMA's (Return Material Authorizations) from suppliers and assists in preparing materials to be returned. Provide input pertaining to excess and obsolete material.

Budgetary/Financial
Assist in the development of a budget for the purchasing functional area. Responsible for monitoring and reporting of various financial metrics related to purchasing.

Experience, Education, Training, Traits:
* Four year undergraduate degree required, MBA preferred.
* 5 years or more managing box build production with vertically intergrated PCBs at tier one contract manufacturers.
* Industry experience in FDA regulated device manufacturing environment preferred..
* Extensive knowledge and experience in new product launches, Bill of Material structures and component specifications.
* Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
* Strong MS Office skills.
* APICS certification is preferred.
* Inventory management knowledge to include knowledge of various inventory transactions.

Language and Verbal Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering specifications, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, specifications, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to clearly and concisely convey project accomplishments, obstacles, issues, and status to project team members.

Math Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to use MS Excel to perform calculations and interpret project results/data.

Analytical and Reading Skills
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to read regulatory, technical and clinical literature and documents and extract important concepts.
