JOB PURPOSE/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Application Specialist Microsoft Platform Engineer' primary function is to provide engineering and architectural input to the design and operation to the platform architecture. The Microsoft Platform Engineer will be required to provide detailed feedback on design documentation, integrate solutions and provide escalation and support during implementation.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing architectural guidance in the implementation and integration of Microsoft infrastructure during Data centre rollout.
- Provision of 3rd level support to the current Microsoft infrastructure as well as supporting and providing feedback in new infrastructure.
- Providing escalation and guidance in application packaging and delivery to Defence thin clients
- Mentoring junior MS Platform administrators.
- Providing a best practice in operational support and communicating opportunities for improvements.
Experience:
- Proven in-depth knowledge of a specific technical specialism including one or more of the below technologies:
- Windows Server platform management
- Hyper V
- Systems Centre Configuration Manager 2012
- Systems Centre Operations Manager 2012
- SCVMM
- Orchestrator
- WSUS
- Proven history of platform management in a large and/or complex ICT environment.
- Ability to pull together virtual teams to resolve operational incidents and problems.
- Industry certification highly beneficial
- ITIL awareness beneficial
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be AUSTRALIAN CITIZENS who currently hold a NV1/Secret security clearance or higher.
