User interface designer (Contract)
Overview
Company are seeking an experienced Senior User Interface developer for a contract position at our development team. This will be a technically challenging but highly rewarding position for the right candidate, working on an enterprise E-commerce application. The role will require constant interaction with other developers in the team and project management to develop and maintain a robust, scalable, and performant system. The successful candidate for this role will have a minimum of 3 years commercial experience implementing high traffic web applications with highly dynamic user interfaces.
Desired Skills
- 3+ years experience implementing high traffic web applications with dynamic UI.
- Experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery and other
- Experience implementing Front End components optimized for speed and cross-browser compatibility.
- Knowledge of modern JavaScript programming patterns, such as client-side MVC, dynamic resource loading, JSONP, event-driven programming, etc.
- Extensive experience converting visual designs to HTML, with an acute eye for detail and design fidelity
- Experience of JavaScript and CSS frameworks, such as YUI, CSS Grid (960, 1140), jQuery Mobile, RequireJS, Event.js, Node.js, Knockout.js, Modernizr, Angular.js and LESS would be beneficial but not essential.
- Exposure to agile development practices, especially SCRUM based, would be beneficial
- Awareness of code management solutions such as Team Foundation Server and Git.
- Familiarity with mobile web development on iOS/Android devices and Responsive Web Design would be beneficial
- Knowledge of popular social media plugins, such as Facebook and Twitter, along with their relevant APIs
- Ability to draft and communicate UI design concepts
- A portfolio showcasing a track record of creating strong User Interface development experience
- Experience with Java Servlet, JSP, JSTL an advantage.
DESIREABLE SKILLS:
- plSQL Scripting experience.
- Knowledge of Telecom protocols
- Knowledge of TestNG
- Scripting/automation experience with one or more of Bash, Python, Perl, or Groovy
- Experience with Atlassian toolset eg JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo
