Messaging Engineer (SC) - Contract - Berkshire - £competitive
A 2nd line Messaging Support Technician is required to provide technical support for a Messaging (Outlook) solution.
They will be part of a larger team of approximately 20 engineers. The engineer will manage messaging related incidents affecting UADs and Servers, investigate reported messaging failures for delivery of email and the server services supporting the Outlook application in liaison with 3rd line technical support ensuring disruption is kept to a minimum, ensure the Global Address List is updated, provisioning of space to support mailbox creation, support to data centres and tier3 Servers in Live, liaise with engineering, release management to understand future product releases.
Skills mandatory:
Working knowledge of Outlook 2003 in a Windows XP environment
Working knowledge of Exchange 2003
Experience of HA clustering solutions and management of uptime
Resource monitoring experience on a Real Time basis to maintain High Availability
Mail Routing troubleshooting engaging with multiple partner systems and owning the progress of resolutions across outside domains
Understanding of anti-virus principles relating to Exchange environments
Skills useful:
Live Communications Server/Office Communication Server
Exchange 2010
Blackberry device support and BES experience
Experience of an ITIL managed environment
Active Directory support
GAL replication through a multi domain environment
Skills on the job:
Willingness to learn new skills and technologies
Due to the nature of the client it would be an advantage for candidates to hold or be eligible to undergo SC Clearance
