SQL Server 2000 & SQL Server 2005 DBA

Installed and configured SQL Server 2000/SQL Server 2005

Worked with SAN Environment and good knowledge of SAN

Strong knowledge of Performance Tuning (includes usage of Profiler and other tools)

Strong knowledge of high availability solutions like cluster, replication, database mirroring required.

Strong knowledge to perform Disaster Recovery required

Provide technical support, consultation and guidance to project teams.

Strong knowledge of T-SQL required

DR Strategies, Capacity planning, design, DocumentationCertifications: Oracle Certified Professional 9i/10G Client Environment: SQLServer 2000, Enterprise Manager

Quest Foglight/Shareplex

Clustering, Backup software, Transact-SQL, DTS and other SQL Server tools and Unicenter

Skill and Experience Details:

-->Database Admin (L1)-Entry level position. Works under close supervision to perform low-leveldatabase management tasks such as adding users, managing space etc.Participates in testing back-ups, ensuring maximum up-time and maximumperformance of database. Familiarity with basic administrative commands isexpected at this level. Front-line interaction with users to assist with lowlevel trouble-shooting requirements.

-->Database Admin (L2)-A fully contributing team member who performs database management tasks suchas meeting user access requirements and resolving their problems. Responsiblefor ensuring that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures arefunctioning correctly. Writes database documentation, including data standards,procedures and definitions for the data dictionary with some generalsupervision. Front-line interaction with users to assist with escalatedtrouble-shooting requirements.

-->Advanced Database Maintenance work -- moving databasesbetween Servers, planning and sizing databases.

Configuration Management:

-->Goodknowledge of SP_configure, clear understanding of configuration parameters ofSQL Server at server level as well as database level.

-->Understanding Queryexecution plan Understanding of SQL Profiler & other Windows performancemonitoring tools, Performace counters, analysing profiler outputs RemoteAccess --Advanced -- Linked Server,

-->Querying linked server data TSQL --Advanced -- Writing complex queries/SP.

-->Resolving performance issues in SP/Queries.

-->Log Shipping -- Setup/Initialization/Failover Replication -- Setup/Initialization Connectivity Issues - resolving any connection issue to SQL Server like SSPI context error/SSL error. Handling

-->Fragmentation/Statistics/Index related issues related to slow performance.
