(Senior) System Engineer IP Operations and 2nd line support
ROLE DETAILS
-Ensures availability and continuous improvement/quality of services by providing 2nd line operations and maintenance support for the Transport, IP Support & PS Core groups' services and the platforms/applications/solutions particular to the service.
o2nd line incident management support & coordination
oimplementing changes
oproblem management, minimize negative impact on network/services by performing root cause analyses and resolving the root causes by implementing/driving changes.
oStructural improvements of availability and performance by supporting performance management process with root cause analysis for Transport, IP Support & PS Core domain/element specific issues in line with the guidelines set by the optimization teams.
osupporting new service introduction/projects
olead engineer in bigger projects
oproject manager for smaller projects
osupports team manager on organizing and planning team and coordinates on task level
-Coaching of Support and System Engineers
-Supports manager in organizing, planning and improving team
-7*24 hour 2nd line support through on call supporting the field service organization if required.
EDUCATION
-Bachelor or Master degree or equivalent level gained by experience, in Information Technology/Electronics/Telecommunications/Data communications Engineering
-Experience with ICT operations and maintenance support
-Be able to judge on operational acceptance complex new systems/applications
-At least (5-7) years of experience in mobile and fixed operational support organization within the domains of Transport, IP & Data
-ITIL
EXPERIENCE
Transport, IP Support & PS Core (team/platform/services specific knowledge)
-Good understanding of mobile and ISP network architecture (GSM, GPRS, UMTS, IP, Internet)
-Valid driver's license
-English language skills (good verbal and written)
-CCNP level or equivalent certification and for sr. approaching CCIE level or equivalent certification
-Experienced in ITIL processes
-Expertise in at least one or multiple of the following technology domains:
Network
orouters, Switches and remote access Servers, preferably Cisco, Huawei, Juniper)
oNetwork and routing protocols: EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, MPLS-VPNs, QOS, Traffic Eng. etc.
oNetwork security (IOS access lists, VPN Concentrators, Access Servers, PIX, IPS, CheckPoint FW-1, IP Sec etc.) preferably with Fortinet/Huawei
oNetwork and performance monitoring.
oCiscoworks, Tacacs, Radius, MRTG, HPOV
