ESSENTIAL ENGLISH 80% REQUIRED

Summary

This role is responsible for database development and design activities involved in the analysis, design, development, troubleshooting, debugging and maintenance of enterprise, high-volume, 24/7 transactional systems. This position requires at least 5-8 years of SQL Server development, design and architecture experience with superb knowledge of database design and data-flow patterns, T-SQL constructs, performance tuning and optimization in a large enterprise that consists of high-volume, 24/7 transactional systems. The candidate will provide thought leadership and guidance to the junior team members of the staff and take the role of departmental lead in project and Business as Usual (BAU) initiatives.

Domestic or international travel may be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
? Responsible for ensuring the design, architecture and implementation of database management systems, which provide the organization with orderly methods of data storage and controlled access to data.
? Possesses the technical expertise to provide leadership at the departmental level and manage the design and development of the enterprise high-volume transactional systems.
? Provide feedback to the Operations team in the design and installation of database management system applications and the establishment of the appropriate linkages to existing database applications and to other data processing systems.
? Provide feedback and thought leadership into the development of a backup and recovery scheme for the database environment and the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuance procedures.
? Should have 5 or more years of hands-on experience with MS SQL of various versions, including SQL 2005, 2008 and 2012, development as a coder using best practice methodologies.
? Responsible for formulating and implementing the team's technical vision, providing hands-on insight into system architecture, data software development and architectural design.
? Establish data standards, guidelines and quality assurance for data deliverables, such as a conceptual design, logical data model capacity planning, external data interface specifications, data loading, data maintenance plan and security policies through collaboration with Architecture, Modeling and Operations team.
? Should possess very good understanding of Database design, database performance, management and tuning and help develop and enforce database standards and procedures.
? Should possess experience leading small multi-resource and cross-functional teams with interdependent initiatives to successful completion.
? Capable of working competitively at both strategic and tactical aspects of a project and general business as usual activities.
? Possess current knowledge of current industry database standards such as Web Services, Object Oriented Development, Collaborative development techniques as well as knowledge of Project management discipline within Information Technology field.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
? Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
? Typically has 5 to 8 years of experience in development, implementation and maintenance of database management systems across multiple platforms.

Specific Knowledge
? Deep understanding of SQL Architecture, packages and coding.
? Thorough understanding of .NET platform and its interaction with the databases.
? Good understanding of messaging architecture, SOA, Enterprise Service Bus and end point virtualization.
? Good understanding of Database and Replication Architectures and Business Analytics.
? Database modeling (Logical / Physical) design and development experience for very large database applications through a thorough understanding of data quality, data lifecycle and metadata management.
? Thorough understanding of SSIS (ETL), SSRS and SSAS packages in the SQL Server Domain.
? Experience with data modeling tool (ER/Studio) a plus
? SQL Replication experience a plus
? VB, .Net, .asp experience a plus
? MS Certified SQL Developer a plus

Supervisory Responsibilities
None

Supervision Received
Work under general direction of senior level management. Frequently reports to a Manager or Sr. Manager within the IT organization. Typically manages and mentors junior team members.
