Yorkshire Building Society Group has an excellent opportunity for a Contract Oracle DBA to join our Database Support team.As part of the database support team your key responsibilities will include but not limited to;
*Providing Database Support for the delivery of a key data warehouse implementation and existing business critical databases.
*Database sizing analysis and capacity planning.
*Warehouse scale performance analysis and optimisation.
*Partition management.
*Oracle database break fix analysis and resolution.
*RMAN Backup and recovery - reporting, review, analysis and troubleshooting failures.
*Installation and configuration of new instances and databases to support project related activities.
*Setting up and maintaining monitoring and alerting (preferably using OEM 11g or 12c).
*Database and application migrations.
*Delivery and support of Proof-of-Concepts.
*Review and approve design and other project generated documentation.
*Report generation and automation.
*Applying ad-hoc changes using SQL / PL/SQL.
*Contribute towards support process design and produce high quality documentation.
*Provide technical coaching and mentoring to members of the team.
*Adhere to YBS standards, policies and procedures.
Desired skills and experience required:
*Oracle 11.2 RDBMS
*Oracle 11.2 RAC / ASM
*GoldenGate (optional)
*Performance tuning
*RMAN Backup and recovery
*Shell scripting
*SQL and PL/SQL scripting, analysis and troubleshooting
*Data warehousing
*Non-Functional, performance and operational acceptance testing
*Familiarity with HPUX or LINUX
