for a Windows Server Engineer (f/m) in a Strategic Project


Project environment

A global Swiss Bank is looking for a Windows Server Engineer to support a strategic project in the area of Firm Wide Methodology, which will provide a Windows Server 2008 based Firm Wide Risk platform for mathematical and statistical calculations. As a Windows Server Engineer/Specialist you are working closely with the project team and the infrastructure engineering teams.

Tasks

Support of Windows related tasks as Scripting (Perl, Shell, VBScript), Windows Server configuration/setup, Active Directory implementation, Citrix/Remote Desktop setup and packaging.

Requirements

Must have:

• Several years of experience with Windows Server 2008 engineering and with Windows Packaging.
• Microsoft infrastructure & Windows systems - in particular Windows Server 2008
• Scripting languages - Windows BAT, PowerShell, VBScript and Perl.
• Active directory and local / group / domain policy implementation.
• Windows server firewall configuration, IPSEC.
• Windows server network and routing configuration.
• Authentication technology in Windows i.e. smartcards.
• Citrix and Remote Desktop.
• Windows server clusters - in particular Blade technology.
• Windows packaging and deployment – good knowledge of WISE or Orca packaging tool.

Nice to have:

• Experience with tools like Matlab, SAS, R, Stata, Subversion and SSH.
• Experience with performance issues in Windows environments.
• Experience in PKI authentication from Windows Server to Oracle DB on UNIX.
• German language.

• Ability to integrate and participate in a project team.
• Quick understanding and analysing complex issues and address challenges arising during the software development process (both conceptually and technically).
• Problem solving in a structured and coordinated manner, the results are documented accordingly.
• Independence, reliability, ability to work under pressure, as well as a dedication towards a high degree of quality, are second nature.
