Description
My client is searching for an Server Infrastructure Engineer with strong skills in security to implement a migration from legacy hardware and operating systems. The candidate must also ensure that security standards are implemented appropriately for integration into the banking environment. The successful Server Infrastructure Engineer will have come from an extensive Infrastructure background that requires broad expertise in a wide range of software, data and integration technologies and infrastructure. The successful candidate will be ideally available immediately and free to interview as soon as possible.The infrastructure engineer will be responsible to assist with the migration, consolidation and recertification of application servers from a legacy platform to new hardware and operating system within an IT environment. They will work with Core Infrastructure team and Application teams to:
* Build and configure servers,
* Assist with migration of application from legacy systems to new hardware infrastructure,
* Review and re-engineer requirements for privileged access on windows application servers,
* Document new application server configuration and DR document for application servers,
* Review, re-certification and clean-up of TMG rules for the application servers,
* Post build configuration of servers to allow for consolidation of legacy systems into new server platform,
* Compliance remediation and checks to ensure compliance with Windows Security Standards.
* The right candidate has significant experience of delivering projects and solutions in large organisations, preferably within the financial services or investment management sectors;
* The candidate has strong technical problem solving and analytical skills plus the ability to rapidly build knowledge in new areas;
* The Infrastructure engineer demonstrates a delivery-focussed approach and quickly applies a combination of systems engineering;
* The candidate is able to articulate technology architecture from the infrastructure through to all application tiers;
* Knowledge of implementing windows security standards and server hardening processes;
* Detailed knowledge of operating systems such as Windows 2003 and 2008 R2;
* Knowledge of proxy and firewalls specifically Microsoft TMG 2010;
* Knowledge of backup, monitoring and DR concepts and technologies;
* Experience of implementation of HP blades via Microsoft SCCM;
* In depth Knowledge of Active Directory, Shares, NTFS permissions;
* Knowledge of supporting and installing java based applications;
* Knowledge of service keeper would also be beneficial.
