Location: Omaha, NE - Need to be on-site for the duration of the contract - Client will cover travel expenses for the right candidate!
Position Type: 12M Contract
Hourly/Salary: to $65 W2

POSITION DETAILS
GTN Technical Staffing is currently seeking a Senior Cisco Network Engineer for a 12 month contract opportunity in Omaha, NE. These roles will be contributing to a long term project (estimated at three years in duration) integrating dozens of technologies together to increase the efficiency of our client's technical environment. Specifically, these roles will determine EOL/EOS of Cisco devices on the network today, develop a refresh plan to replace these items with current supported equipment within data centers in Omaha, NE and Chandler, AZ and lastly, develop a standardize catalog of data center hardware.
- Compile and review all network diagrams
- Determine EOL/EOS dates for all Cisco devices on the network and flag devices where support has expired
- Flag flaws or weaknesses in as-built data network environment that represent risk to the operating environment from an availability and Business Continuity perspective
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of experience in the following skill sets
- Cisco Routers/Cisco Switches - Configuration/Troubleshooting/Support
- MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching)/Customer Edge MPLS/Provider Edge MPLS
- Client-Facing Ability - Will work directly with C-Levels of our client
- Previous Network Refresh Experience
- Network Risk Assessment - Identification of Risks/Creation of Documentation
- Juniper Routers/Switches
- Network Protocols - Configuration/Support
- BGP - Border Gateway Protocol
- OSPF - Open Shortest Path First
PREFERRED (but not required)
- Cisco Certifications
- Excellent English - Written/Verbal
