My client, a large investment bank based in midtown Manhattan, are seeking a risk analyst for an initial 6 month contract within their Prime Brokerage Risk division. The role will be at a rate of $35 per hour, depending on experience.Responsibilities will include:
*Work within the PB risk team to test and develop the firm's new prime brokerage margin and risk monitoring platform.
*Learning calculation methodologies for regulatory and in-house margin policies.
*Interacting with vendor and technology teams on project work including design, implementation and testing.
*Performing testing of regulatory and in-house margin policies implementation.
*Cooperating with risk team members in modifying existing testing plans and creating new ones as needed.
*Assisting with miscellaneous risk monitoring and managing tasks for PB clients as needed.
Essential Skills:
*Strong communication skills.
*Bachelor's degree with technical and finance coursework.
*Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (including VBA) and Access (including SQL).
*General knowledge of capital markets.
Desired Skills:
*Ability to quantify risks involved in different trading strategies.
*Basic understanding of exchange-traded products and derivatives and how to price them.
*Experience with Bloomberg and Bloomberg Excel Add-in.
