Description
Design Group Supervisor who supervises a discipline group or subgroup. Typically assigned to the discipline Department as Group Leader. Required thorough knowledge of PDS and SP3D.Responsibilities:
Manage discipline design work group, with associated responsibilities of recruiting, staffing, annual evaluations, training, etc. under the direction of the discipline Chief Engineer. Overall supervision of designers and drafters preparing drawings and sketches using CAD workstation and appropriate design criteria and technical manuals. Ensures conformance with applicable codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures. Develop work processes, procedures and standards and perform training. Must have strong working knowledge of discipline design requirements and 2D and 3D CAD methods.
Qualifications/Competencies/Experience:
Has developed skills in management of discipline workforce on projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and oversight. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline and familiar with interdiscipline requirements. Works independently with minimal guidance. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Applies knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations. Interprets customer needs, assesses requirements and identifies solutions to non-standard requests. Uses best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve products or services in own discipline. Monitors and controls costs within group. Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions. Manages own time to meet agreed targets; develops plans for long-term work activities for large projects and/or discipline department. Explains difficult issues and works to establish consensus. Promotes teamwork; coaches and guides others. Interfaces with the Discipline Chief Engineer and Senior management. Typically has a minimum of 20 years of design experience with PDS/Smart Plant review/microstation.
Good and stable work history track record and good references a must.
