Progressive Global Energy has been tasked by a key account in Aberdeen to source an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on an ongoing contract basis.The company are a well established and large service company, known for Research and Design of innovative solutions for the subsea oil and gas market. Due to ongoing work with their operator customer, they are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the engineering team.
The successful candidate will effectively liaise between the mechanical design engineering function and the customer as well as associated third parties to ensure that project deliverables are adhered to. You will act as the technical point of contact and representative for the company on the ongoing refurbishment/maintenance of aging subsea production equipment including well heads, Xmas Trees, BOP's WOC's
Candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
*Eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship (i.e. British Citizen or currently holding a valid Tier 1 visa)
* Degree Qualified in Mechanical Engineering or HNC/HND with relevant experience
* 5 years UK experience in a similar Mechanical Design Engineer role working in the subsea arena.
* Experience developing engineering drawings, Bill of materials, and engineering work requests.
* Fully conversant on AutoCAD, Inventor, SAP MathCAD and Microsoft Office packages
* Experience proving technical guidance/advice internally and externally with customers
* Experience leading teams of engineers and mentoring lower level engineers within mechanical function.
Good understanding of the manufacturing process and workshop practices.
