6 months possible extension. 45 hrs a week
This is an application operations position. These systems allow wireless devices to send/receive data. If these systems are not available, wireless phones stop working. Service restoral must occur as soon as possible, then follow-up to prevent outage from re-occurring.
My ideal candidate.
Mandatory
Excellent knowledge of UNIX/Solaris/Linux. High level admin tasks, jumpstarting, etc.
Experience with IBM BladeCenter hardware and opening tickets with IBM a plus
Comfortable at the command prompt, Shell Scripting, Perl, AWK, etc.
Excellent troubleshooting skills to identify problems and restore service.
Basic networking knowledge/skills
At least one of these
Working knowledge of wireless telephony. AAA Radius knowledge, 3GPP, roaming, etc.
Network+ level of knowledge - (VLAN concepts, subnetting, TCP/IP model, NAT, etc) - CCNA preferred
Previous experience with operational application support desirable.
