What is the job?My client, a global manufactur of differentiated chemicals. They manudacture products for the chemical, platrics, automotive, aviation, textiles, construction, technolog, health care and packaging industries.
They are looking for two process safety engineers on an initial 6 month target to join their busy team.
What will you be doing?
- Providing technical support and expertise in the translation of Group standards into Site requirements and procedures
- Develop and support an upgrade of the Site PHRs
- Carry Out SIL and +hazard studies as required on new site improvements and projects
- Plan direct and co-ordinate the activities of Huntsman professional Engineers and external consultants to implement
- Contribute to the cyclical updating of the site COMAH report utilising site and third party support as required
- Monitor upcoming UK / EU legislative developments and advise on implications on our process safety systems
- the necessary improvements to procedures and practices
- Maintain a proactive and positive relationship with external regulating bodies in order to anticipate future PSM developments and address any issues arising during the update process
- Supply any support required to deliver the training and coaching of the Greatham Site Community in the new procedures and ensure that the practical elements of their implementation are understood and sustained
What is essential?
- Chemical Engineering degree with Chartered status
- Substantial high hazard chemical plant experience
What is desirable?
Knowledge of the following: QRA, IPPC Assessment, Hazard Study methodology, Protective System design and Gas Dispersion modelling techniques
