Progressive recruitment are currently recruiting for an IT Test Analyst to join a large company based in manchester.The IT Test Analyst will be required to undertake the following:
Develop and own the elements of testing within any project work allocated, from inception (definition of test strategy and test requirements) through to execution and delivery
- Tailor the test deliverables as per team standards to match the scale of the project
- If the single tester on a project (or if working as part of a test team on larger projects) take ownership of the creation of any test environments used for testing. This includes definition of the data required, the size and nature of the environment, and clearly articulating these expectations to the members of the IT team who will deliver it, as well as checking the delivered outputs match quality expectation
- To develop and maintain manual test packs where required. To ensure there is no overlap or omissions on the boundaries between these and development automated test packs.
- To execute the above and ensure testing is completed with a rigor relative to the project size, complexity and importance
- Engage as part of the rollout team for major projects, or actively assist were required in the implementation of smaller ones
- Proactively identify areas for improvements within the test teams eg expand the use of automation, using project inception to ensure requirements are clear so as to prevent defects being introduced
Essential skills
- Used to working in a formal and structured project environment.
- Able to work with business users and BA's to define test requirements
- Translate requirements into specifications and test packs.
- Comfortable owning and delivering projects
- SQL
- Use of test tools
