What is the role?

My client is looking for process safety engineer to join their busy team. They are looking for someone to provide technical advice, guidance and specialist support to the leadership of manudacturing plants and their associated facilities in the management of process safety hazards. This invludes the identidfication of process safety hazards, estimation of their potential consequences, assessment of their rish and the measures necessary to prevent them and minimise their consequences.

What will you be doing?
  • Development and implementation of work processes and procedures to ensure a consistent, high quality approach to process safety across the site
  • Coaching of plant Process Engineers in implementation of those processes and procesures
  • Coordination and/or preperation and updating of the site COMAH safety report
  • Preparation of training packages and delivery of training to employees at all levels in the organisation, and in all aspects of process safety, at both awareness and practitionar levels
  • Development of process safety management meetings at plant and site levels
  • Coordination and/or leadership of process hazard risk assessments
  • Usining relevant good practice (RGP), assessment of the adequacy of the technical measures in place to prevent proces accidents and minimise the consequences of any that do occur
  • Facilitation of Management of Change


What do you need for this role?
  • You should be educated to degree level - preferably a chemical engineering degree, or other engineering discipline
  • Chartered status would be a benefit
  • Experience in the successful preperation of COMAH Safety Reports, and will have knowledge and understanding of aspects of process safety such as the relevant legislation (eg. COMAH, PSR, DSEAR, PSSR, etc.), techniques of hazard identification, consequence modelling and risk assessment. Experience of working in process industries would be a benefit
