Description
Our client, a large telecommunications provider, is seeking an experienced Fibre Design Specialist to work in the field, in the ACT. Through your detailed knowledge of the NBN Access Network, you will assist to deliver requirements against contract deliverables. You will be responsible for analysing NBN Co plans and designs as part of a high performing team to support the delivery of the NBN Co fibre network. This position is 90% field based and 10% office based.
The role:
- NBN FSAM design evaluation of NDD (Network Design Document), FIR (Field Inspection Report) and DDDs (Detailed Design Document) against use of maximising principles and fitness rules
- NBN design evaluation of Transit Duct Plans & Designs
- Prepare impact assessment and formal response to NBN Co for:
- consistency to NAD (Network Architecture Definition)
- excessive remediation
- commercial augmentation quotes
- Determine requirements for field verification of FIRs & irremediable duct sections
- FSAM remediation project creation and release
- Variation management of NBN Designs
- Evaluate changes in scope between Network Design Documents, Field Inspection Reports, Detailed Design Documents and final fibre As-Builts
Experience required:
- Detailed understanding of Access Networks
- Immediate to advanced understanding of FTTP/PON networks
- Good understanding of NBN network architecture
- Immediate to advanced knowledge of network deployment practises
- Use of geospatial tools is an advantage (such as MapInfo)
- Intermediate skills in Data collation, analysis and forecasting
- Ability to manage and work with conflicting and discrete pieces of information
