Description
I have an iOS app that has been in development for the past few months by another developer. He got us very close, and we have a working app with only a few minor issues, but he was not capable of hitting the finish line. I've been reaching out to developers over the past month or so without any success -- either too busy to take on new projects, or too busy to answer -- and sitting on this app all the while. I am looking for someone to put the final touches on this and close the remaining to-do items and provide some final polish so we can get this in the app store.
Requirements
- Must have existing portfolio of apps you've developed in the iOS app store
- Computer science background is preferred, but not neccessarily required
- Must be excellent with GPS enabled apps, have experience with using API's (this app is using Yelp), and be well-versed in iOS / xCode / Obj. C / and PHP/MySQL (some backend stuff is happening server side)
- Must be english and communicate well
- Must be available to start immediately
Our final to-do list should not be more than a week or week and half of work for someone, as the app is currently about ~85-90% complete. You will get the entire project as in xCode. To Do items are as follows (these are purposely somewhat vague to protect the app in development. A full write up can be provides on requst)
- Tighten Up GPS: As a location-matching app, the GPS needs to be tightened up to ensure a person is marked at a given location only if they are actually close enough to it, and not just driving by or a mile down the road
- Event Database: We have a server-side event database that events are pulled from. This is all working fine, but there is a date issue where it's ignoring the date set in the database and instead using the current year -- so even if an event has expired (in 2013), it's showing up as happening in 2014.
- UI Cleanup: The UI is fairly polished, but there are some font inconsistents we want cleared up so it looks nice and smooth.
- Update deprecated code: Unfortuatently, our developed used a lot of deprecated classes that are on the way out. We don't want this falling apart after launch, so we'd like to get these things cleaned up.
I'm a web designed and developer who's been in the industry for nearly 10 years. This is my first attempt at an app, and I headed up the entire design and concept for the project along with the help of a couple friends. We think this is a pretty innovative idea that will especially be popular among college crowds, and it could make an excellent portfolio piece for you.
I am willing to listen to many hourly rates, as long as they are reasonable and represent your quality of work.
