Procurement Consultant/ Analyst - UKA Procurement Consultant/ Analyst is needed in Reading, UK for one of our clients, a prestigious international Telecommunications company. Fluent English and experience in procurement are required and eligibility to work in Europe. It is on contract basis. Start time is ASAP.
The person will be providing strong support to the Procurement Manager and team and evaluate supplier capabilities to meet business needs, including assessing and developing an appropriate portfolio of current and new technology supplier relationships.
He will be responsible for mitigating any risk associated with suppliers and develop appropriate contingency strategies. He will liaise internally and externally at all stages of current and new product development. This will include working with project teams and supply chain, reviewing material specifications and drawings, and ensuring clarity around capability and capacity.
He will have strong cost awareness and be able to drive cost outcomes there is also a high element of sales to the procurement role.
Main Responsibilities:
Strategic management of critical business relationships related to the procurement of raw materials and/or product technologies
The ability to conceptualize, build and maintain relationships with suppliers
Participate in the review of services and material specifications, drawings, and inspection procedures with the project teams, supply chain team, and suppliers to drive best choice supply decisions
The ability to build a functional network with a variety of disciplines including engineering, procurement, technology, quality, marketing, business leadership and legal
Run Service RFQ’s
Reporting and communication
Support the Procurement Manager with any Global pretender or post tender requirements
Follow all service procurement processes
Provide recommendation of qualified and price competitive subcontractors
Clarify scope of work for contractors
Assist the Procurement Manager with the delivery of final proposal documents
Support monthly application for payment, including providing all supporting documentation and raising invoices
Requirements:
Over 3 year’s experience in a Procurement role, in a Mobile Telecommunications business
Degree educated/or equivalent role related qualification
Strong Negotiation and influencing skills
Presentation, communication and planning skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Strong time management skills
Proactive self-starter
Strong client relation skills
Ability to communicate well at all levels and with colleagues
