Pricing Analyst - General Insurance - Leeds - £32,000

We are currently working on behalf of our major UK Banking client for a Pricing Analyst to be responsible for producing and analysing highly specialised and strategic information to aid the pricing of General Insurance products. You will then be presenting your statistical analysis to internal stakeholders, including senior colleagues.

Requirements:

You will be highly numerate, as evidenced by your strong academic grades in mathematical related subjects (with a minimum of A-Level maths and a degree in a numerical subject).

You'll also be able to demonstrate your skills for the job through your background in a pricing role (or similar), within the Financial Services industry and your proven track record of delivering high quality, complex, numerical analysis.

Accountabilities:

> Carry out statistical insurance analysis of general insurance products

> Provide initial analysis on General Insurance contract competitiveness and current pricing and underwriting practice.

> Produce management information and supporting analysis relating to product performance.

> Understand Key Performance Indicators/ Key Risk Indicators and support the monitoring and delivery of such.

> Ensure that modelling adheres to model development and peer review standards

Key Capabilities/ Knowledge:

> Strongly numerate with analytical skills (to degree standard or equivalent experience)

> Data extraction & manipulation skills

> Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel

> Good knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications including Word

> Demonstrate aptitude towards statistical techniques and analytical statistical software such as SAS and generalised linear modelling

> An introductory level of general insurance experience

> An introductory level of pricing experience

Knowledge of statistical techniques, SAS and generalised linear modelling would be a distinct advantage. However, you will receive all the support and training you need to develop a wide range of Pricing skills.
