Global Indirect Procurement Manager sought for a leading international manufacturer of special purpose machinery and bespoke capital equipment.

Based in Birmingham this new position comes from a company with a strong heritage that in recent years has doubled in size. Amidst this ongoing growth they continue to have new opportunities for new and existing employees.

Now seeking a Global Indirect Procurement Manager who will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies, with the Global Sourcing Leader, and execution for 'Indirect commodities' within this companies network. To qualify you will have a Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering background and MBA or Degree within Engineering where you will lead from the front and establish yourself within this profitable, reputable company.

Key tasks & proven experience within:

Essential:
  • Experience in management of Procurement or Supply Chain organization
  • Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred) inn supply chain or business related field
  • Business Studies or Mechanical Engineering and/or Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS)
  • Experience in indirect/MRO category management, and strategy development and implementation
  • Relevant experienced of setting up and managing a company purchasing or materials management systems
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Experience in implementing and operating ERP systems
  • Experience in E-sourcing tools and techniques, purchasing platform
  • Ability to obtain spend data in a challenging IT environment where data may be difficult to obtain
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programmes
  • Knowledge of ORACLE is a plus
  • Familiar with multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to drive changes
  • Persuasive
