A global engineering procurement and construction company has a new exciting opportunity available in London. They are seeking a highly motivated Project Controls Manager with strong rail industry experience.

This individual is required to come on board and bring leadership to the project controls & planning function of their organisation. The position is a full time and permanent, meaning there is the real career development, stability and security with this opportunity.

The organisation is offering salaries of £55,000 - £65,000 dependent on individuals experience. They also offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes a company car/allowance, pension, family healthcare and more.

As well as providing leadership in the project controls function of the business you will also be expected to implement new process of control onto projects and advise on the best course of action.

The principal accountabilities of this role will mean reporting to the Head of Proposals, Bid Manager or Project Lead to ensure that specific customer, tender or projects requirements are supported. You will be involved with preparing individual work schedules and supporting documentation for tenders as well as supporting planning, cost change and risk management to the projects as required. Your skills & expertise will also be utilised by contributing to the development of project controls techniques to ensure best practise, procedures and processes are developed, documented and consistently adhered to.

The nature and scope of this position can be simplified and broken into three sections: Planning, Project Controls & Communication:

Planning:

- Prepare individual work programmes for inclusion in response to customers tender requirements

- Provide Schedule Management expertise to FEED & EPC projects as required

Project Controls:
- Provide guidance for the provision and analysis of Earned Value Management metrics

- Support the PPMO and specifically the Project Controls Department with division-wide metrics.

- Lead and promote Programme and Project Control methodologies to ensure compliance with project specific requirements and business procedure

- Support and develop governance processes to ensure consistent application of process and integrity of data.

- Deputise for the Head of Project Controls as required.

Communication:
- Communicating clearly to all stakeholders

- Presenting information in a clear and concise manner

As you can see from the description of this role it is clear that you will at a very senior position within the business and have a lot of influence over the organisations project controls division. Due to seniority of this role the parameters for the right candidate are very strict and are as follows:

Experience required:

- Rail experience is essential (Ideal candidate will have worked with Network Rail)

- Experience of leading performance reporting on large scale projects

- Excellent knowledge of Earned Value Management & Implementation
