Senior Oracle DBA

Immediate Start!
London - 6 Months Contract

I have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Oracle Data Warehouse DBA with extensive knowledge throughout the full Oracle suite to start immediately for one of my key clients. The contract will be based in London, for 6 months with likely extensions to follow.

Functions Highlights:
  • Develop and provide a clear understanding of the Corporate Data Warehouse data model and strategies for data modelling
  • The Data Warehouse Database Administrator will maintain the tables as necessary for optimization
  • The Data Warehouse Database Administrator will ensure recoverability of the Data Warehouse with minimal loss of information
  • The Data Warehouse Database Administrator is the point person for issues of performance within the Data Warehouse environment.
  • The Data Warehouse Database Administrator will translate the logical database design into a physical implementable design.
  • This resource should suggest industry standards on best practises on development and scripting processes.
  • The Data warehouse DBA will be responsible for major deployments as well.


Technical Data Warehouse Skills
  • Physical database design
  • Database maintenance
  • Clones/Backup and recovery of Development and test environments.
  • Data Replication
  • Security administration
  • Performance Monitoring and tuning.
  • Have a clear understanding of the Corporate Data Warehouse product and functionality
  • Deep understanding of Data warehouse approaches, industry standards and industry best practices
  • Skilled in the various design and technology alternatives that influence the database design
  • Must be proficient with end-user tools, data extract tools, data replication tools, rapid development techniques, prototyping, and SQL.
  • Experience in dimensional design and implementation using Rational Data Architect (RDS)


Desired Skills
  • Experience with or understanding of IBM DataStage/IIS 9.1.2, Cognos, replication tools,
  • Experience of working in an SCRUM environment or with another other Agile methodology
  • Exposure to the Services Industry
  • Experience in working with pan European projects/teams
  • Understanding of MWB (Metadata Work Bench) and IBM CDC is a plus.
  • Oracle certified professional
