Purpose and Description:
The Defect/Reporting Lead for Health Plan Test Services is responsible for managing defects for the Tapestry AP project for various testing teams across IT and Business. This includes conducting daily defect meetings, assignment of defect triage to multiple vendors, and ensures vendor Service Level Agreements are upheld.
Essential Functions:
Work with the project managers, development, system, WIT, and UAT testing teams to assign defects and ensure defects are addressed, managed and closed as appropriate
To own and chair daily defect calls with lead Development, Test and Operations teams, and to provide clear minutes and actions
Ensure all defects are entered correctly and managed as effectively as possible through their life cycle
Accountable for monitoring defect progress, follows up as needed
Maintains absolute integrity of the defect database and ensures a full audit train for any changes made to defect status outside of the standard defect process
Escalates defect related issues to program
Generate testing metrics and reports via both excel and the HP Quality Center testing tool
Responsible for creating standardized status reports on daily, weekly and ad-hoc basis
May be required to present at the Program level
Creates standard defect reports for IT, Regions and Business
Required Experience:
Ability to establish and enforce processes and procedures for defect management across multiple levels of stakeholders
Facilitation, negotiation, and communication skills must be polished
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
4+ years of IT work experience, including knowledge and experience managing projects in a project manager role or above
Requires specialized knowledge and experience in testing function
Takes initiative to solve complex problems; takes an outside in perspective to identify innovative solutions
Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations
May lead teams, projects and/or other test coordinators
Effective communicator across all levels from staff through senior leadership
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Experience:
Excellent analytical skills with the proven ability to solve problems both in verbal and written communications
Must be able to work cooperatively as part of a large or small local and remote testing team
Excellent organization and planning skills; must be able to adjust priorities with changing needs of the project
Experience with HP Quality Center, Microsoft Office, SQL
Skills to be successful in this role:
Must work well independently with limited direction, be a quick learner with excellent communication skills
