Description
As the contract Systems Engineer be responsible for a range of proactive system maintenance and trouble-shooting activities to support the Department's ICT infrastructure and services.
The role includes planning, implementation and maintenance activities in support of a highly-available classified networked environments.
The Department's ICT environment reflects the diversity of its operations and a broad range of skills are required.
Duties
- Act as technical resource in a team of system engineers.
- Support the Department's infrastructure to meet current and future requirements.
- Maintenance of:-
- Installation, deployment and maintenance of hardware, operating systems, Middleware and software.
- Installing software releases, performing system upgrades, evaluating and installing patches and resolving software related problems.
- Maintaining data files and monitoring system configuration to ensure data integrity.
- Interacting with developers and business services personnel regarding hardware, software, e-mail, and troubleshooting.
- Comply with relevant policies and procedures and maintain documentation.
- Reasonable after hours, holiday and weekend support work may be required.
- Any other duties as directed.
Australian citizens with NV2 level clearance will be considered for this engagement.
Contract to EOFY, extension not known at this stage.
