Service Design Engineer/Architect - Brussels
Key duties:
Undertaking IPTV Service design to support Business needs
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions
Develop, together with suppliers and business, the IPTV Service Roadmap, to determine the service functions & requirements, long and short term
Evaluate and challenge different topologies, technologies, solutions, high & low level designs presented by suppliers
Keep architecture and design documentation up to date
Review statistics provided by suppliers to ensure proper functioning of the ipTV infrastructure
Evaluate and challenge the existing solutions and suppliers to select the most appropriate and cost-efficient solution
Taking ownership of end-to-end release management
Managing releases to ensure solutions are delivered in time, budget and quality, according to the defined planning
Ensure releases are executed according to the business requirements and following all the contractual agreements
Maintain permanent contact with suppliers and business to ensure release scope is clear and meet expectations
Establish policies and procedures to improve the release cycle
Identifying together with suppliers requirements at risk, ensuring mitigations are defined
Ensuring the best Service Quality and Performance
Making sure all releases and changes are implemented with a minimal risk for the live network and preventing as much as possible service impact
Monitor, based on statistics provided by suppliers, the KPI's for capacity
Identifying network areas at risk
Translating network performance requirements into technical specifications
Participating as a team member to achieve established departmental objectives
Working in close liaison and sharing knowledge with colleagues to ensure the highest standard in service delivery
Working in accordance with Company quality standards, procedures and processes
Ensuring good communication with other departments, internal and external customers and service providers
Reporting any issues and problems to management, making suggestions to optimise work processes
Essential skills/experience:
Technical background, ipTV front & Back End knowledge, release management, interfacing with Business people & with Suppliers to produce technical requirements based on business requirements, challenging technical solutions
