Windows Infrastructure Engineer / Support – Windows Server / MS SQL – 2 Year Project

Client – FTSE 500 Consultancy

Role – Application / Infrastructure Move Engineer

Key responsibilities
• define and update plans for execution work conducted by himself and other parties (internal / external)
• align plans with other application move streams / activities
• analyse design documents and define / size work packages for setup and configuration as well as for data load
• validate the “ready to fill” infrastructure
• drive and perform setup, configuration and installation activities in the OS, DB and Application which are necessary for the application installation and configuration
• document setup, installation and configuration activities
• load migration data into the application / database
• troubleshoot and fix errors reported in the subsequent tests whenever they are related to application installation or data import
• in order to move the application, collaborate with
o OS experts
o DB experts
o 3rd party application experts (BT internal or suppliers)

• prepare operational documentation for later transition into operation (“runbooks”)
• grant / organize application access and handover the installed application to the testing team
• be active part of the defect resolution team
• participate in hand over of documentation and tested application to operations
