Job Description

Working in conjunction with, and under the direction of the Operational Process Improvement Manager, the Operational Process Improvement Team Leader I/II/Sr. position will coordinate, plan, schedule and oversee Operations Improvement Projects for the Drilling, Completions or Construction groups for my client. These projects include but are not limited to waste stream planning and scheduling, waste stream operation improvements, data and cost analysis, on-site operational improvements, corporate risk mitigation, recycling and environmental improvements, and advancing new technologies outside the normal scope of operations. The OPI Team Leader responsibilities will include the following:
  • Execute primary and secondary process improvements projects
  • Participate in negotiations for deals pertaining to the projects to drive down overall costs
  • Approve and authorize all invoices pertaining to projects above the authorization limit of the OPI Technicians
  • Understanding and ability to interpret the rules and regulation set out by the state and landfills to support operations for the projects assigned
  • Reviews ongoing procedures in drilling, completion and construction operations to help optimize efficiency
  • Gather and interpret data to assist in analysis of operations to help justify changes in standard operating procedures
  • Explore new avenues for operational process improvement


Required Skills
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and WellView
  • Basic understanding of the drilling, completions and construction process
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to build a team environment
  • Ability to give precise and detailed reports of problems, updates, failures, operational parameters and personnel status


Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, civil, mechanical or petroleum engineering; and
  • Three years of related experience with at least one year of drilling operations experience which includes rig site work that demonstrates knowledge in directional drilling, a familiarity with various weighted mud systems and knowledge of down hole tools and standard drilling practices; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
