Urgently seeking a Senior SQL DBA to work at group-level within an international telecoms organisation in Leicester. The successful candidate will have a starting salary of up to £50,000 plus excellent benefits. The DBA will be expected to:

* Provide 24 x 7 production and development database support and ensure that all critical database problems are resolved in a timely manner
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in performance, automation, and exception processes
* Assist in developing departmental technical policies and procedures
* Take responsibility for capacity management and performance tuning of a database
* Provide problem diagnosis and resolution with minimal business impact

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

* Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a SQL Server DBA
* Expert support knowledge of SQL Server 2000, 2008, and 2012 standalone and High Availability systems such as standard SQL Server clustering and Availability Groups
* Advanced level SQL skills including triggers, stored procedure, views, etc.
* Excellent T-SQL skills
* Strong knowledge of Database Backups, Change Data Capture, and Extended Events
* Understand preservation of data integrity (e.g. referential integrity)
* Understand the requirements for differing types of applications (e.g. OLTP vs. Reporting)
* Knowledge of database disk utilisation and performance tuning concepts and tools.
* Experience with the MS BI Stack (SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, and SQL Server Reporting Services)
* Must be able to work successfully in a fast-paced, fast growing environment
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
