Storage Engineer

Contact duration: 6 months + (Strong possibility of extension)
Main representation for OPS team for EMC storage and backup systems areas. EMC storage and backup systems POC. Storage and backup system interface for CDCR EIS team. Report and advise storage capacity usage. Back-up and restore recovery requirements. Storage provisions request requirements. Advanced change control schedule relative to storage and BUR activities.
- Manage and administer SOMS EMC Storage and Networker environment
- Co-ownership of storage and backup systems responsibilities
- Implementation, management and operation of EMC storage and backup systems application
Qualifications
Solid network, security and Platform operation fundamental knowledge. Network interconnection knowledge relative to storage fabric configurations. Knowledge and strong experience with storage provisions systems and associated integration requirements. General storage provision and capacity reporting best practice for use in the environment. Manage and troubleshoot storage system. SAN fabric management. UNIX and Windows experience.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- 5 years experience with general EMC storage and or back-up systems administration
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to work in a team and customer environment
Must have 7-10 years experience with storage and backup systems provisioning and management tools including reporting on storage and backup systems activity. EMC storage and backup systems performance/capacity knowledge and use a plus. Ability to develop and maintain event management agent templates for standard monitoring and reporting agents. Interface experience with EMC control center; notification/escalations systems; 3rd party event management event probes.
