Mandatory knowledge and experience:

  • Demonstrate practice on Mainframe (Z-OS, TSO, ISPF, JCL)
  • Demonstrate practice of TWS

 Knowledge in the following areas is an asset:

  • Knowledge of REXX
  • Knowledge of file transfers (FTP, UDM)

TSO Being able to manage/edit different Mainframe file formats. Being able to use the command line

OPC Being to able to plan, modify, delete an application. Being to able to manage the calendar.

bBing to able to access the LTP, daily planning, database OPC. Being to use the program link with OPC ( eqq*). Being  to use BCIT, ETT.

SDSF Be ing able to access the different spool JES2 .Being able to follow the management of JES2.

Being able to use the command.

JCL Being able to use Job, EXEC,DD parameters. Being able to understand a conditional statement.

Being able to manage JCL. Being to analyze an executed JCL. Being able to troubleshoot and resolve an abend. Being able to use proclib, PROC. Being able to use the standard IBM utilities ( iebcopy, icegener, iceman,..)

ISPF Being able to use "menu" and utilities  Being able to understand a basic REXX, clist. Being able to use the command line. Being to manage cassettes via Ca1 ISPF.

SA Being able to understand simple sa command.

IMS Being to understand the  relation between IMS and batch (DLI,BMP).

VSAM Bbeing able to manage a VSAM dataset ( KSDS).

 Job description:

As a staff member of the Batch Management Team Insurance he/she is responsible for analysing the portfolio of Supporting applications/jobs and documenting these.

He/she will also take part to the job scheduling/follow-up work carried on by the team.

The team is divided into 2 different groups

  • A pure Business As Usual team located in Bangalore caring for the execution of the batch jobs on production and pre-production environments
  • A support team located in Brussels caring for organisation aspects of the Batch process and supporting projects

The second group is currently under-staffed due to illnesses

Some processes are already well documented, some others are running but not documented well, some do not have clear owner identied and agreed

Some activities might be considered as eligible for off-shoring but need to be identified and clearly assessed against risks of doing or not doing
