A top Investment Management Firm located in Boston, is actively seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join the Fixed Income Team. The team plays a critical role in the firm's success by providing technical solutions which improve the efficiency, speed and quality of the highly complex investment decision-making process.As a member of the Fixed Income Systems team, this individual will be responsible for solutions delivery for Fixed Income Investment business. It is a front office position and you would be working directly with Portfolio Managers and Fixed Income Traders. This is an ideal opportunity for an IT professional to apply business and/or technical skills to enable the investment process.
What you Will be Doing:
- Lead delivery of high quality business solutions.
- Interface and coordinate with the broad Information Services teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Interact with Investment professionals at all levels of the organization as needed, to proactively identify opportunities for new/improved systems to improve the investment process.
- Lead the implementation of business solutions in conjunction with the technical development.
- Hands-on design and development in a fast paced commercial environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience with, and demonstrated understanding of modern software development and testing methodologies.
- Experience developing J2EE applications using JDBC, JNDI, JMS and other related technologies like Swing, RCP, developing Web applications using JSP, AJAX, SPRING, Web Services and other related technologies (HTML5, etc) is strong plus.
- Experience in relevant financial domain i.e. business technical understanding of Fixed Income, Derivatives securities or financial markets like Foreign Exchange, Money Markets, is a strong plus.
