ABOUT THE POSITION
GTN Technical Staffing is currently seeking a Senior SQL Server Database Developer for a 3-6M Contract (with possible extensions) contract opportunity in Denton, TX. The Senior SQL Server Database Developer will be developing on SQL Server 2005 in anticipation of a targeted (by or before) April 2014 migration to SQL Server 2008 R2. The Senior SQL Server Database Developer will work on applications consisting of SSIS - Integrated Services and Stored Procedures. These applications have been touched by multiple different resources in the past and consistency/accuracy/effectiveness/efficiency will, most likely, need to be reengineered to a standard process with accompanying documentation. The Senior SQL Server Database Developer will review and make improvement suggestions in regards to hardcoded values and standard functionalities (ex MS JET Database Engine to Flat File Processes). The end goal of this project is to successfully migrate from SQL Server 2005 to 2008 R2, by or before, April 2014 and accommodating for Disaster Recovery Testing.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of experience in the following skill sets
Senior SQL Server /R2 Database Development
o Migration from SQL Server -bit) to 2008 R2 (64-bit)
o Migration from Windows 2003 Server (32-bit) to Windows 2008 Server (64-bit)
o SQL Server 2008 R2 Clustered Environment Development
o Review All Code/Create Accompanying Documentation
o Document/Modify MS JET Engine Processes to Flat Files (STRONGLY preferred)
o Identify/Recommend Suggestions/Resolutions to Change Requests
o Complex T-SQL/Stored Procedures
o Review/Reengineer T-SQL/Stored Procedures for Maximum Efficiency/Consistency
o User-Defined Functions/Triggers/Constraints/Linked Servers
o Tables/Views/Indexes/Joins, etc.
SSIS /R2 - Integrated Services
o Package Design/Development
o Scalable/Reusable ETL Components
o Complex Business Logic
o Troubleshooting/Monitor Performance Bottlenecks
o Review/Reengineer Packages for Maximum Efficiency/Consistency
