Pay £700per day

My client a global Investment banking group are seeking to hire a GT Production Support Specialist to work on an initial 6 month contract based in New Jersey.

The GT production support specialist will be part of the Enterprise services group responsible for supporting Finance applications. This position requires a unique skill set requiring both functional and technical knowledge related to Finance Products like SAP and generic knowledge of Unix platforms and Oracle databases.

Responsibilites will include:
Project initiation and scoping, including definition of plans and setting and managing realistic expectations for successful delivery with project stakeholders
Build and manage relationships relationship to the key stakeholders within Finance & technology
Develop a good understanding of the activities required to execute GT production functions
Understand thoroughly the end to end application support process and escalation procedures, become fully conversant with all support tools that will be used to provide effective support in the relevant area
Maintain an end to end view of the application and infrastructure landscape
Provide strict production gatekeeper function by reviewing the solutions coming from Application services and ensuring that nothing goes into production operation unless all prerequisites have been met and that the different component operators accept it
Establish realistic SLAs aligned with the customer expectations as well as the demands of standards and best practices
Works with team members to identify areas of focus, where training may improve team performance, and improve incident resolution.
Act as escalation contact for our stakeholders in the business (Finance) as well GT across all regions
Engage in 24 hrs follow the Sun model with the support teams based in APAC and Europe
Actively pursue service improvements and efficiencies in the applications/processes that lead to increased production stability and customer satisfaction, respectively
Ensure the production support program complies with all relevant policies and guidelines
Provide business specific metrics for GT Production for current and potential issues - provide thresholds to ensure timely remediation

Skills and Experience: Experience of end to end Level 2 management and good overview of Production/Operations Management overall
Extensive experience of supporting complex application and infrastructure domains
Have a proven track record of assisting in delivery of projects and achieving results independently on time
Capability to interact successfully in a virtual, multi vendor and multi cultural environment
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Broad ITIL/best practice service context within a Real Time distributed environment
Demonstrate understanding of Operations processes and procedures and an ability to learn quickly - knowledge of processes related to Operations or the Financial Services industry would be an advantage as well as use/support of SAP systems
Demonstrate confidence in interaction with senior stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to work across products, regions and funct
Strong experience in using SQL and UNIX/Linux commands. Ability to understand and parse application log files
Basic knowledge of Oracle database management system, Performance

Competencies
Financial/Technology industry trade
Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in an IT related discipline
IITIL V3 (or equivalent)
