IP Security Engineer Level 1 - Madrid /Spain


IP Security Engineer is urgently needed on contract basis for our client, a prestigious international
telecommunication company, in Madrid, Spain.


Responsibilities:
Ensure the network equipments operate effectively on a day to day basis
• Responsible for the 2nd line incidents and problems resolution in the infrastructure domain
• Responsibility for day to day operational activities such as route configuration, firewall configuration etc.
• Proactively monitor network systems to prevent failure
• Identify single points of failure and recovery plans
• Support the configuration and set­up of new network equipments
• Suggest and make improvements to the network operating environment for performance improvements


Main tasks:
The IP Security Team provides 2nd level support services over the security equipments
Requirement:
• Bachelor's degree in a Telecommunication / IT / Computer Science/ Engineering / Mathematical discipline
or relevant skills or equivalent professional experience
• 1­3 years hands­on experience as an Network Engineer having knowledge of network device such as
Cisco/Juniper/Huawei router/switch/firewall, at least some of them
• 1­3 years hands­on experience as an Network Engineer having knowledge of network device of
F5/checkpoint etc, at least some of them.
• Good knowledge of TCP/IP
• Good shell scripting programming
• 2nd line IT support experience, and previous experience in 1st line would be a plus
• Understanding of hardware/software integration issues and problem resolution
• Urge for digging deep to solve problems while keeping the systems running smoothly
• Incident and Problem Management skills: confident in analyzing and solving problems of the network,
hardware and software components, incident trend and root cause analysis
• Capacity to identify the risks / single point of failures in the Network problem and to mitigate them
• Able to provide performance tuning and capacity forecasting
• Good in writing documents, manuals, reports and summaries in English
• Fluency in English is mandatory, and Spanish language skills is a plus
• Ability to interact with diverse customers in a multi­cultural environment
• Strong problem solving skills, quick learner and self­motivated team player
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience and certified with Cisco/Juniper is preferred
• ITIL V3 Foundation certification is a plus
