Description
We're looking for a person who is a good generalist who understands Engineering and machines. Sphonic is a young company rapidly expanding and we need people who can get the job done without too much supervision.
Out platforms are based on Linux and SmartOS so a willingness to work and understand both is important. You should be comfortable in Bash and Python. We don't use Ruby and it's strictly prohibited on our platform. Our platform is all about low latency operation a keen interest in optimisation is a must.
We do require that you are conversant with CFEngine v3 as this manages our entire platform. You'll get to push cfengine and promise theory to the limits and we'll expect you to be involved in fixing what breaks.
You'll be primarily based at home so you should be comfortable in managing your time and delivery to tight deadlines. You'll be expected to come into the offices on a monthly basis and during your probation period that requirement will be weekly - you should be able and happy to do that.
The selection process is an initial phone interview followed by a face to face which will include a technical test.
