Description
Develop custom applications for use in the reporting on and management of a large network program. This position is responsible for developing reports and reporting tools. Reporting capabilities range from summary level to detailed tracking of specific data attributes. This position is responsible for working from documented requirements for tools and reports, testing and deployment.Responsibilities:
- Manage complex projects through the design, development, testing and debugging phases of an application delivery cycle as well as designing and developing components of the service as an individual contributor.
- Use appropriate programming language and technology, writes code, completes programming and documentation, performs testing and debugging of applications for the enterprise.
- Provide technical and analytical input/guidance to project team and assist developers regarding project architecture and application programming practices.
- Manages individual projects and works as an individual contributor; is responsible for completing projects within allotted timeline.
- Assists with definition of project scope and objectives, as well as provides technical architecture input and coordinates programming practices of a project team, and identifies resource needs
- Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates and status reports.
- Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
- Ensures adherences to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.
- Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.
- Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in applications
- Interact with clients to gather and document project requirements, specifications and to determine technical feasibility.
Expert Skills Required:
- Extensive experience with MS Excel functions and VBA development using the Excel Object Model. This is used when working with Spreadsheet manipulate and using macros to perform database access and data manipulation.
- VBA development for Excel and Access
- MS SQL Server 2008 development and data modelling and extensive use of SQL Server Management Studio (2008)
- Converting MS Access database to SQL Server. Working knowledge of MS Access in regards to ETL and Access/SharePoint Interactions.
- Building ODBC, DAO and ADO connections to various databases for data maintenance and extractions.
- Knowledge of SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio to create and maintain SSIS Packages.
- Written/Verbal communication
- SQL Server Agent - Knowledge of creating and scheduling jobs
- SharePoint development (Javascript)
- Web development
- Must be capable of using basic out of the box software from Microsoft such as VBA, VB.NET, SQL Server 2008, XML, SharePoint and JavaScript.
- Must be capable of working with source system technical teams to gain access to data and assess useability for the transport programs.
- Ability to write simple to complex queries with multiple joins to extract and analyze large volumes of data.
- Ability to multi-task and work with frequent interruptions throughout the day.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
- Must be Local to the Atlanta, GA area.
- Working knowledge of application development and user interfaces/experience is a plus.
