I am on the look out for a SQL DBA Developer to work for a Financial Services Company based in Kent.

Job Summary;
Database Administration for MS SQL Server
Database security - satisfy local regulations
Performance tuning and optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Manage backups and recovery including applying appropriate recovery models
Deployment of new databases, SSIS packages and changes
Replication Management
Storage and capacity planning
Create and maintain documentation of the SQL Server
Troubleshooting and resolving failures with SSIS packages

Job Purpose;
* Maintaining development, test and production database environments including new installs and applying service packs
* Monitoring the databases and optimising database performance and use of resources, including selecting optimal physical implementations of databases
* Troubleshoot failures of BAU processes, including those designed and implemented by other Database Administrators or external companies
* Maintaining availability and integrity of databases
* Monitoring and managing database backups and restores
* Create, maintain, manage and adhere to a security model that satisfies local regulations
* Undertaking major data migrations to databases and porting databases
* Database planning activities including: capacity planning (processing capacity, storage capacity and back-up capacity), security and integrity planning with security experts, developers and network colleagues
* Support and Adherence to Change Management practices
* Adhere to departments best practice guidelines and ensure new developments also adhere
* Work with Third Parties to deploy changes to data structures and content

Database DBA activities (essential)
SQL 2012 (essential)
SSIS 2012 essential
High Availability Technologies - Clustering, Always ON, SAN
Visual Studio, SSDT, TFS
Data Warehousing techniques and technologies (desirable)
