Permanent Fleet Superintendent. Glasgow. Excellent Salary Package.

I am currently working a leading shipping company that specialise in the marine and energy sectors in the recruitment of a Technical Superintendent to join their team on a permanent basis in their Glasgow office.

This position calls for a candidate that has previously been within a technical marine superintendent role, alongside this the candidate will have spent time within a seafaring position.

The role will predominantly be based in the Glasgow office however extensive travel to visit clients and vessels on site will be required - this will be on an International basis.

Within the position you will plan, control and execute all activities linked to the maintenance, repairs and dry docking or the modification of vessels. You will also be responsible for the liaising with all classification bodies such as the flag state and other authorities.

You will be responsible for budgets and expenditure; ensuring that any required repairs are carried out in a cost efficient and timely manner. Reports will then be delivered to the client regarding the management, expenditure and condition of the vessel as per the management agreement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Liaising with the HR department on crewing matters, involvement in interview and appraisals

- Budgetary control

- Monitor vessel performance trends

- Carry out risk assessments

- Incident reports

Required skills/Qualifications:

- Tanker experience

- Engineering or naval architecture qualification

- Previous experience as a fleet superintendent within the technical department
