Description
We are looking for a GIS Developer to work at our multinational client in Stockholm/Sweden.
- Expected tasks and deliverables by the Consultant
- Incorporate pre-defined map layouts;
- Develop a map feature to allow the print-out of high quality maps;
- Improve the layer management functionality of the application;
- Finalize development of the functionality to allow the creation of user map templates;
- Develop an on the fly map functionality for the production of maps;
- Design and develop functionality allowing EMMA to link with repository of surveillance disease data.
- Develop Web GIS applications on SharePoint 2010;
- Adapt the existing code, removal or replacement of components;
- Identify functional/logic views for software development;
- Design and application of Test Cases to deliver the software;
- Write technical documentation.
- Identify the cause of bugs, document and develop long-term solutions;
- Provide support and application maintenance;
- Support the deployment of web applications by writing installation scripts.
Educational and experience
- Knowledge of standards like Web Feature Services (WFS), Web Map Services (WMS), Shapefiles;
- Proven experience in developing using Arc-Objects, within ArcGIS for SharePoint, ArcGis for Silverlight API's and with ArcGIS Server 10 technology and Public Health;
- Experience in Software Architecture Design/Implementation and Systems Integration
- Experience with SharePoint (MOSS 2010) and Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS);
- Experience in agile development methods, including Test Driven Development;
- Strong knowledge of data classification/summarisation algorithms for GIS and their implementations.
- Programming in .NET Framework 3.5 (VB.NET, Silverlight 4, ASP.NET, EF), Visual Studio and Microsoft SQL Server;
- Extensive experience in developing SOAP/REST web services.
- Knowledge of test reporting and issue tracking using Team Foundation Server );
- Technical documentation writing;
- Very good command of English, oral and written.
