The Client:
An international IaaS provider with the office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands is currently looking for a Senior NOC Engineer to be based in Amsterdam.

The Role:
As a Senior NOC Engineer the selected candidate will be responsible for developing, supporting and improving the client’s customer’s infrastructures.

Responsibilities:
Designing and implementing complex IT systems (including network, server and database interaction)
Administering Linux servers
Administering Windows 2003, 2008 and 2012 servers (IIS, MSSQL and Exchange)
Supporting VMware ESX/i and RHEL KVM
Designing, planning and implementing server migrations
Configuring and troubleshooting TOR switch Brocade & Cisco devices.
Able be on-call and take escalations after hours.
Ability to adhere to comprehensive documentation policies and practices
Security investigation and troubleshooting of legacy infrastructure as well as new setups
Maintaining and configuring bandwidth monitoring systems
Maintaining internal systems and shared company servers
Providing documentation for systems developed or integrated
Coordinating projects with other teams
Helping other team members with any issues ensuring team effectiveness
Desired Skills and Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in Linux and Windows systems engineering and administration in a production environment with in depth knowledge of the following:
CentOS or Red Hat
Web servers such (Apache and Tomcat)
Windows Server 2008 and 2012
Performance analysis, tuning and troubleshooting of Linux including Kernel recompiling
RAID systems
MySQL Database Administration, Replication, Migrations, and Upgrading
Mail system administration and maintenance (qmail, postfix, dovecot, courier-imap)
Backup systems design, implementation, and recovery (BackupPC, Scripting, Bacula)
Networked file systems (NFS, CIFS)
Knowledge of SAN/NAS management, implementation and development
Use of task Automation Scripting: Unix Shell scripting (sh/bash/etc), Perl, Python, Puppet Servers
Able to compile, debug, and install Open Source programs
DNS systems such as BIND and TinyDNS
Administrating HA clusters using IPVS and F5 Load Balancing as well as DRBD
Fluent in English and Ducth
